Singapore on Monday introduced a comic book called "Agent Penny and Will Power in Operation Finance "to facilitate financial education among children.
A joint effort between Citibank Singapore and the Learning Society, this book is the second in the comic series after "The Adventures of Agent Penny and Will Power" which was launched last year.
The books teach children about good money habits such as making income and expenditure budget through an adventure setting and superhero characters.
Speaking at a preview ceremony, Singapore's Minister of State for Education Lui Tuck Yew said that financial literacy is a skill that will have lasting impact throughout a child's life.
"In the long run, high levels of financial literacy will prove beneficial not just for the individual, but for the well-being of our country as a whole," he noted.
In Singapore, other initiatives aiming to promote children's financial literacy include the MoneySENSE program launched by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, as well as courses and extra- curricular activities in schools.
