font size

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice canceled her scheduled visits to Vietnam due to "objective reasons", the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry said Monday.

"We hope that the U.S. secretary of state will visit Vietnam another time", said Le Dung, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Rice was scheduled to visit Vietnam late this month after attending the 39th ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Ministerial Meeting slated for July 24-28 in Malaysia, to enhance mutual understanding and cooperative relations between the two countries.
