Israel strikes house in northern Gaza StripAn Israeli aircraft hit a house with one missile in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun on Tuesday afternoon, wounding one Palestinian woman, medics and eyewitnesses reported. Israel has overnight bombarded three houses in the Gaza Strip, wounding ten Palestinians, saying the houses are used by militants to store homemade weapons and rockets for attacking Israeli communities. Meanwhile, a spokesman for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza denied that the organization had conveyed Israeli army message to the Palestinians warning them to evacuate their houses. "The ICRC has never received any letters or notifications from the Israeli authorities to be conveyed to the Palestinians," Eyad Nasser told reporters. The house's owner fled the bombing on alert half hour before the air raid. "How can we play such a role as we oppose targeting civilians in violation of Fourth Geneva Convention," Nasser wondered. Hundreds of Palestinian families fled their houses in al-Nada residential complex in the northern Gaza Strip to avoid Israeli shelling which killed three residents on Tuesday. Source: Xinhua |
