Bangladesh will send relief materials and food items to Lebanon, as the fighting is raging the country since July 12, that killed around 400 people and displaced about 800,000 others.
Bangladeshi Food and Disaster Management Ministry Spokesman Shahjahan Siraji said, "Bangladesh has decided to send some relief and food items responding to a call for the countries to come in aid of Lebanon."
He said an inter-ministerial meeting was held Wednesday at the ministry, which decided to respond to the international call of the Lebanese government for humanitarian aid on emergency basis.
The meeting, attended by top officials of Prime Minister's office, Food and Disaster Management, Foreign, Commerce and Health Ministries, decided to send medicines, tea, biscuit, blanket, food items for children and clothes, the spokesman said.
