font size

Four people were killed, including three women, and five others wounded when an ambulance hit a roadside bomb near Baquba Thursday morning, a U.S.-Iraqi liaison office said in a statement.

"An explosive charge went off near a passing ambulance on the main road from the nearby Baldruz town to Baquba Hospital," said the statement from the Joint coordination Center of Diyala, where Baquba is located.

Baquba, some 65 km northeast of Baghdad, is the provincial capital of Iraq's Diyala province which is in the so-called Sunni Triangle, an insurgent stronghold.
