Israeli army denies warship hit
font size

Israel Defense Forces said on Monday that none of its ships was hit by Hezbollah.

Earlier, Hezbollah's al-Manar television said that Hezbollah successfully struck an Israeli warship off the coast of the southern Lebanese city of Tyre and it was part of retaliation for an Israeli airstrike on a Lebanese village on Sunday.

"This is the beginning of our vengeance for the children of Qana," the al-Manar television said, referring to the air raid on the southern Lebanese village of Qana which killed over 50 civilians, most of them children and women.

Hezbollah hit an Israeli warship off Beirut's coast with a radar-guided missile on July 15, killing four Israeli soldiers.
