Bush says U.S. not to be part of multinational force in Lebanon
font size

U.S. President George W. Bush said on Monday that the United States will not be part of a multinational force to be deployed in Lebanon.

When asked if the United States will be part of such a multinational force during an interview with the Fox News Channel, Bush said: "Probably not."

"But we would be glad to help, you know, with logistics and/or command and control," Bush said.

"But most nations understand that we won't have troops there on the ground," Bush added.

The United States has called for a multinational force to be deployed in southern Lebanon. However, details of the multinational force are still to be worked out.
