The death toll in norther Gaza Strip by an Israeli air-to ground missile on Tuesday afternoon rose to two with five wounded, Palestinian medics and eyewitnesses reported.
Eyewitnesses said that an Israeli aircraft fired one missile at a Palestinian militants' car near al-Nadda Towers neighborhood north of the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia, adding that the rocket missed the car but hit civilians.
The initial report said that one was killed and six were injured, including a Palestinian woman who was critically wounded.
Medics said that Aaref Abu Qayda, 16, was killed and six were injured by the shrapnel of the Israeli missile that hit the area causing a huge explosion.
Later, the medics said that the woman called Mervat Abu Sharkh, died of her wounds she sustained following the airstrike.
Meanwhile, Israeli tanks stationed on the borders between northeast Gaza Strip and Israeli fired several artillery shells at northern Gaza Strip, causing no injuries in the area.
The shelling and the airstrike came shortly after Palestinian militants fired homemade rockets from the area at southern Israel.
Palestinian medics at Shiffa Hosptial in Gaza City said that a 7-year-old girl died of her wounds she sustained last week after she was hit by an Israeli tank's shells that fell near their house.
In addition, Somaya Oukal, 7, was critically wounded, while her mother and two of her sisters were killed in the same incident.
Israel continued an over-three-week-old massive air and ground offensive in the Gaza Strip in a bid to rescue an Israeli soldier kidnapped by Palestinian militants on June 25 and halt Palestinian rocket attacks.
At least 160 Palestinians were killed in the attacks, according to media.
