Palestinian militants from the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) claimed on Thursday that they launched two home- made rockets into Sderot city in southern Israel.
A statement issued by Saraya al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, said that a group of the brigades could bomb Sderot settlement with two Quds-3 rockets.
The group also said that Israeli sources acknowledged the rockets landed on an open space inside the settlement.
In the meantime, a Hamas' military wing also claimed responsibility for firing a rocket at an Israeli settlement to the east of Gaza strip.
Both militant groups vowed to continue on the fight and resistance way to counter the Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip and to retaliate for the blood of martyrs in Lebanon and Palestine.
The row rocket attacks coincided with an Israeli ground offensive in southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah where eight Palestinian reported to have been killed in the operation that started at predawn on Thursday.
The Israeli military launched an offensive in Gaza on June 28, three days after Palestinian militants killed two soldiers and seized a third in a cross-border raid.
At least 160 Palestinians have been killed since Israel launched the massive offensive to recover the captured soldier and to halt rocket fire from Palestinian militants into Israel.
