South Korea's stock market operator is seeking to establish a stock exchange in Cambodia, said Yonhap on Monday.
According to Yonhap, the Korea Exchange (KRX) has sent a draft memorandum of understanding to Cambodia to establish a joint venture-style stock exchange there.
The stock market operator, likely to be 51 percent owned by the Korea Exchange, will be launched within three years, and the KRX will deliver the know-how necessary to launch the exchange, Yonhap quoted officials as saying.
In 2000, South Korea helped Vietnam to establish its stock exchange, but it did not make an equity investment.
