Two Israeli soldiers were killed in fierce clashes with Hezbollah guerillas in the southern Lebanese village of Bint Jbeil on Monday, the pan-Arab al-Jazeera satellite TV reported.
Several other Israeli soldiers were also wounded in the confrontation, said the report, without revealing further details.
Meanwhile, al-Arabiya TV reported that three Israeli soldiers were killed in the village.
Bint Jbeil, about 4 km into south Lebanon from the border with Israel, is a Hezbollah stronghold.
There was no immediate word from the Israeli side concerning the casualties.
Israel continued a 27-day-old massive offensive against Lebanon 's Hezbollah on Monday and pressed ahead intense airstrikes and ground operations.
Over 90 Israelis have been also killed and Lebanon said that over 900 Lebanese, most of them civilians, were killed in the violence.
