A senior Palestinian security source denied on Monday afternoon that a long-range rocket fired by Hezbollah guerilla fighters from south Lebanon landed near a West Bank town.
The source said that there was a huge explosion in the area north of the town of Tulkarem, adding that it was initially believed that the rocket as fired by Hezbollah, but after investigation, the explosion was a result of a bomb.
Earlier, Palestinian eyewitnesses said that a long-range rocket fired by Lebanon's Hezbollah guerillas from south Lebanon, landed on Monday afternoon at an opened area near Tulkarem in northern West Bank.
A few days ago, a Hezbollah rocket fired by Hezbollah fighters from south Lebanon landed near Jenin in the West Bank, but no injuries were reported.
Hezbollah had threatened that its rockets would hit the city of Tel Aviv, if Israeli aircrafts targets Beirut, capital of Lebanon. The Palestinian West Bank is just 15 kilometers east of Tel Aviv.
