Customs authorities crack 1,076 IPR infringement cases in first half of 2006

According to General Administration of Customs of China, Chinese customs authorities settled 1,076 intellectual property rights (IPR) infringement cases valued at over 68 million yuan and seized 39 million articles of fake goods in the first half of 2006. On May 24th Guangzhou Customs District of China tracked down and seized 108 thousand bottles of fake Wong To Yick Wood Lock Medicated Oil worth 1.89 million yuan which came from Hong Kong. This is the largest fake import case that Chinese customs authorities cracked down during recent years in China.

Chinese customs authorities also enhance the protection of Olympic symbols. On May 24, Guangzhou Customs District seized 672 children's clothes with illegally used Olympic trademarks and 2008 Olympic mascots.

As well as this, when examining exports to Cameroon which were declared by a company of Shenzhen, Tianjin Customs District found and seized 4,150 children's school bags carrying illegally used 2008 Olympic mascots.
