Three Iraqi soldiers were killed and two others wounded on Saturday when their patrol was hit by a roadside bomb west of Baghdad, a police source told Xinhua.
The attack occurred at about 6:30 p.m. (1430 GMT), the source added.
Explosions and assassinations in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities were seen as a major setback for the Iraqi government's efforts to stem violence and achieve national reconciliation.
