Three car bombs kill at least three people in Baghdad

Three car bombs went off in two areas in Baghdad on Monday, killing at least three people and wounding seven others, an Interior Ministry source said.

Two car bombs exploded near a passport office in Zaiyounah neighborhood in eastern Baghdad, killing two people and wounding four others, the source said on condition of anonymity.

A third car bomb detonated in the Attebaa Street in Baghdad's southern neighborhood of Karradah, killing a civilian and wounding three others, the source added.

The upsurge of violence in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities is seen as a major setback for the Iraqi government's efforts to achieve security.
