ISF Women Fast Pitch Worlds to take place in Beijing

The International SoftBall Federation (ISF) Women Fast Pitch World Championship, the first test event for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, is to take place here during Aug. 27th to Sept. 5th.

There are a total of 16 teams to attend the Championship, which are divided into two Pools. China, the host team, is to play in Pool A along with United States, Canada, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, DPR Korea and Britain.

"I am quite confident with China in the forthcoming World Championship.when I saw the game schedule, I think it's interesting. The Chinese team should enter the final in a position of first place or second place in group A," said Michael Bastian, the coach of Chinese team.

The Pool B consists of Australia, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Greece, Venezuela, the Netherlands, Botswana and Colombia.
