Bangladeshi Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan Monday set conditions for sending Bangladeshi troops to act as peacekeepers under the United Nation (UN) if all parties in the conflict accepted it.

In a statement on Monday, Khan said, "Bangladesh's participation in contingent should be on a clear understanding of the terms of reference and rules of engagement as this has not been made clear in the UN Security Council Resolution."

Khan's statement followed an announcement by Israel that nations which had supported Hezbollah or did not have diplomatic relations with Israel were not welcome in the force.

Bangladesh has no diplomatic relations with Israel and this second largest Muslim country condemned the Israeli attack in Lebanon.

"All parties in the conflict must accept our troops, only then we will send our troops," Morshed Khan said in the statement.

The UN resolution called for the deployment of 15,000 troops in the south of Lebanon.

Bangladesh is one of the top ranking contributors of troops in the UN peacekeeping in different trouble stops in the world.
