China's CPC to promote ties with Rwanda's ruling party: Chinese official

The Communist Party of China (CPC) is willing to further promote relations with the Rwandese Patriotic Front, the ruling party of the African country, Wu Guanzheng, a high official of the Chinese party, said on Tuesday in Kigali.

Wu, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the comments during a meeting with Francois Ngarambe, General Secretary of the RPF.

Wu said the CPC was willing to further reinforce relations with the RPF, share mutual experiences in party management and governance, and increase friendship and deepen cooperation, in an attempt to jointly push forward the comprehensive development of bilateral relations.

The CPC and the RPF have maintained a long-lasting friendship, and the development of the friendly relationship between the two parties has become the political basis and a major driving force for the development of relations between the two countries, he said.

Wu, who is also Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC, spoke highly of the Sino-Rwandese friendly cooperative relations, saying that both China and Rwanda are developing countries and the two peoples have a long history of exchanges and traditional friendship.

He said that over the past 35 years since the two countries established diplomatic ties, the friendly cooperative relationship had been developing in a healthy and steady way, especially in recent years, and bilateral cooperation has been developing in an all-round way.

He also introduced China's political, economic and social development conditions.

Ngarambe expressed a warm welcome on behalf of the RPF to Wu. He said that the visit fully embodied the traditional friendship between the two parties, the two countries and the two peoples.

In recent years, the RPF enjoyed support and help from the CPC, the Chinese government and the Chinese people in building the country and developing the economy, for which the Rwandese side highly appreciates and hopes to have more cooperation with China in economic development, he said.

He said the two countries have also had good cooperation in international affairs. The two sides have common views on many important international issues and are willing to make joint efforts to establish a fair and rational international new order.

The RPF firmly supports China's great undertaking of peaceful reunification. He expressed the belief that, with joint efforts by the two parties, the Rwandese-Chinese relationship based on equal and mutually-beneficial partnership would surely have a better development.

Wu and his entourage arrived here on Monday night for a friendly visit at the invitation of the RPF.
