Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to visit Gaza to discuss the formation of a coalition government, a spokesman for the Hamas-led government said on Wednesday.
"I think the key issue on the schedule would be the formation of a national-unity government, especially as we have a solid ground for beginning talks after Hamas and Fatah agreed on joining the government," spokesman Ghazi Hamad told the Voice of Palestine radio.
Hamad stressed the need to speed up the formation of a coalition government, adding that its vision would be based on the Prisoners Document of National Accordance.
"The Prisoners Document speaks about a political solution, statehood within the 1967 borders and commissioning the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to be responsible for negotiations ( with Israel)," said Hamad.
In other issue, Hamad said the cabinet has been involved "in contacts" to secure salaries for teachers and employees before the beginning of the school year which is set to start next week.
"We hope to reach a solution satisfies all," he added.
