Lao PM visits Cambodia to boost bilateral ties

Lao Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh arrived here on Thursday afternoon to pay an official visit at the invitation of his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen.

This is Bouasone Bouphavanh's first trip to Cambodia since he was elected as prime minister in June this year.

Bouasone Bouphavanh was welcomed by Hun Sen, other government officials and some diplomats at the Phnom Penh International Airport.

During his stay here, the Lao Prime Minister will hold official talks with Cambodian Prime Minister on Thursday afternoon which is expected to discuss the bilateral cooperation and border issues.

Meanwhile, during his three-day visit, Bouasone Bouphavanh will be received in Royal Audience by King Norodom Sihamoni and will pay courtesy calls on Senate President Chea Sim, National Assembly President Heng Samrin, according to the Foreign Ministry.

Besides, Bouasone Bouphavanh will visit the world well-known Angkor Wat temples in Siem Reap, more than 300 km north of the capital.
