Two people were killed and 21 others wounded when two roadside bombs went off successively early on Saturday morning, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua.
One roadside bomb detonated at about 6:30 a.m. (0200 GMT) in Bab al-Muadham area in central Baghdad, and another went off shortly after when a police force reached the area, the source said on condition of anonymity.
A total of two civilians were killed and 21 others were wounded in the two blasts, including three policemen, the source said.
The blasts follow several days of heavy bloodshed in and outside the capital city of Baghdad, where U.S. and Iraqi troops have mounted a major security crackdown.
