Zhang Yan, director-general of the Arms Control and Disarmament Department of China's Foreign Ministry, will attend a meeting on the Iran nuclear issue in Berlin on September 7.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qin Gang made the remarks at a regular press conference on Tuesday.
He said China believes the meeting will help promote the international community's efforts for resuming peaceful talks on the Iranian nuclear issue and achieve the goal of peacefully resolving the issue.
Qin said China has always held the position of peacefully settling the Iranian nuclear issue through diplomatic negotiations.
The six participants of the meeting will be the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, namely the United States, Russia, China, France and the United Kingdom, and Germany.
