Two gunmen open fire at foreign tourists in Amman, killing one

Two gunmen opened fire at foreign tourists near the Roman Amphitheater in the Jordanian capital on Monday, killing one and wounding five, the pan-Arab al-Jazeera TV channel reported.

One policeman was among the injured, said the report.

Meanwhile, Jordanian government spokesman Nasser Judeh said that the attack took place in broad daylight as a group of tourists visited the popular attraction in Amman's bustling central district.

Jordanian security forces were deployed in the downtown area of the capital.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
