A grand celebration for the 950th anniversary of the building of the Sakyamuni Pagoda is held near the ancient pagoda in Yingxian County, north China's Shanxi Province, Sept. 5, 2006. About 30,000 people attended the celebration on Tuesday. Built in 1056 and located some 380 kilometers southwest of China's capital Beijing, the nine-storey Buddhist pagoda is a superb example of ancient China's building and carpentry techniques.
