The death toll in a suicide bombing attack on a police patrol in eastern Baghdad on Thursday rose to 10, an Iraqi Interior Ministry source said.
"A suicide bomber drove his explosive packed car into a passing police patrol in the industrial district, killing 10 people and wounding 17 others," the source said on condition of anonymity.
Several policemen were among the casualties, the source said.
"The attack took place when the police patrol was heading to a police fuel station near the industrial district," the source said.
The source said earlier that three people were killed and 10 others wounded in the attack.
Insurgents frequently attack Iraqi security forces accused of collaborating with U.S.-led occupation forces.
