Pakistan celebrates Defense Day

Pakistan on Wednesday celebrated Defence Day, starting with prayers in all mosques of the country and Army Units, Naval Establishments and Air Forces Bases for the progress and prosperity of the country.

Special prayers were offered for the eternal peace of those died during the war.

The special messages of the services chiefs were read out to the troops of Army, Navy and Air Force.

Newspapers arranged special supplements highlighting the importance of the day.

Wreath laying ceremonies were held at the graves of soldiers martyred in war.

A large number of people belonging to all shades of life attended the ceremonies to pay homage to those who demonstrated indomitable courage and valor in defence of the motherland.

A special ceremony was held at Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Masroor base in largest city Karachi in which PAF pilots demonstrated their professional skills with an aerial show. An exhibition of Pakistan Air Force equipment was also being held.

Fauji Melas, or military festival, is being held in Rawalpindi and other parts of the country with an exhibition of defence equipment for the interest of general public.
