The death toll in a roadside bomb attack in eastern Baghdad on Friday morning rose to three while six others wounded, including policemen, an Interior Ministry source said.
The attack which occurred at about 9:30 a.m. (0530 GMT) targeted the convoy of col. Ali Muhammed, chief police of Karradah police station, while heading to work in the Rubaie Intersection of Baghdad's Zaiyounah neighborhood, the source said on condition of anonymity.
The blast damaged a police vehicle and a civilian one, killing three people, including a woman and a child, and wounding six others, including three policemen, the source said.
Earlier police reports said that two people were killed, including a policeman, and three policemen wounded.
Insurgents frequently attack Iraqi security forces, accusing them of collaboration with U.S. occupation forces.
