Two people were killed and eight others wounded on Thursday when a car bomb went off near an electricity office in a northern Baghdad neighborhood, a well- informed police source said.
A car, parked near the office in the Hurriyah neighborhood, exploded at around 9:00 a.m. (0500 GMT), the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Violence has persisted in Iraq as bombings and assassinations cause dozens of civilian casualties daily.
