Two ministers of coup-ousted government of Thailand reported Thursday to Administrative Reform Council (ARC), at the command of the martial authority body that took over the regime after the coup Tuesday night.
ARC on Wednesday ordered ousted Natural Resources and Environment Minister Yongyuth Tiyapairat Yongyuth and PM's Office Minister Newin Chidchop to report themselves by Thursday noon. Both were close aides and strong defenders of ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
Earlier reports said soldiers raided houses of Yongyuth in Bangkok and Chiang Rai in northern Thailand but didn't find him there.
Yongyuth arrived to report at the Army headquarters in central Bangkok, which is the head office of the ARC. Newin also reported himself to ARC before deadline.
Meanwhile, former deputy prime minister and commerce minister Somkid Jatusripitak, who was previously in France on a trade mission, has returned to Thailand Thursday afternoon. He told reporters that he had no plan about his work and political future yet.
Former deputy prime minister Chidchai Vanasatidya is now in custody of the ARC, chief of ARC Sonthi Boonyaratkalin announced Wednesday.
