France to introduce less expensive biofuel
font size

French Finance Minister Thierry Breton said that France would within days launch "green pumps" of biofuel throughout the country.

"I will announce in several days the launch of green pumps serving bio-ethanol throughout the country," Breton said in a television interview late on Sunday.

"It is possible to have green fuels that cost less," he added.

When asked about whether motorists, which in France overwhelmingly prefer diesels, will need to change vehicles, Breton said he had a number of good surprises left for the French people on taxes and cars.
