Internet to take over 10 pct of all ad spending
font size

Internet advertising spending is to overtake outdoor ads in 2006 and to overtake radio in 2010, according to a report published on Monday by ZenithOptimedia agency.

Internet advertising, which will take 12.9 percent of all the ad spending in the UK and 10.5 percent in Sweden in 2006, " overtakes the outdoor media this year" in the world, the report said.

It is the first time that Internet advertising has a double- digit spending share anywhere in the world. By 2008 there could be eight markets, including Australia, Israel, Japan, Norway, South Korea and Sweden, where the 10 percent barrier will be broken.

From 2005 to 2008, the Internet advertising income will have potentially increased by 84 percent, the report said.
