Deals on prisoners swap still "immature": PRC
font size

A spokesman for the captors of the Israeli soldier in Gaza, Gilad Shalit, said on Tuesday all deals to exchange the soldier with Palestinian prisoners were "immature. "

Abu Mujahed, member of the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) which joined Hamas in capturing Corporal Gilad Shalit last June, added that negotiations between the Palestinian militant groups and Egyptian mediators still underway but blocked by the Israeli refusal to meet demands of the captors.

The captors demand to swap Shalit for a number of Palestinian prisoners that would include children, women and jailed Palestinian leaders.

Abu Mujahed stressed that Israel should meet the demands when it release Palestinian prisoners. His remarks were made in response to Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit who said Israel has accepted to free 1,000 prisoners.

As Israeli threats to invade Gaza Strip mount up, Abu Mujahed warned that Israel would not be able to get back its soldier by force.
