General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nong Duc Manh will pay an official visit to Laos soon, according to local media on Wednesday.
The visit is made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Lao President Choummaly Sayasone, People newspaper said, giving no further information.
Top leaders of Vietnam and Laos have recently affirmed their determination to maintain and develop friendly and all-round cooperative relations. The traditional friendly ties, special solidarity bonds and comprehensive cooperative relations between the two countries have unceasingly been reinforced and promoted both extensively and intensively in all spheres, including politics, economy, culture, security, defense and foreign affairs, Nong Duc Manh and Vietnamese State President (at that time) Tran Duc Luong said when holding talks with Choummaly Sayasone in Vietnam's Hanoi capital in June.
During the talks, the two sides agreed that Vietnam and Laos will maintain meetings and contacts among high-ranking officials in different forms, and expand cooperation among their ministries, sectors, localities and enterprises.
