Thailand's National Counter Corruption Commission (NCCC) would reveal assets of all Cabinet members who had served former premier Thaksin Shinawatra during five years in power to the public on Oct. 20, as part of the investigation of their suspected unusual wealth.
The commission's spokesman Klanarong Chantik said Friday the NCCC had received reports of assets declaration by Thaksin and all of his ministers for 11 times, including forming new governments and Cabinet reshuffles from 2001 to 2006.
The assets owners would be required to submit written reports of their financial information and those failing to do so would be deprived of their political rights for five years, Klanarong added.
He said Thaksin who is currently abroad may sign documents to verify his assets and authorize someone to hand them over to the NCCC within Oct. 18.
Other cabinet members under the Thaksin government are also required to verify their assets to the NCCC within the same deadline.
