SK-II not to retreat from China
font size

Procter & Gamble Co. (P&G) recently squashed rumors that the company will withdraw from China, but has no fixed schedule for the resumption of sales, said a spokesperson.

P&G had to suspend sales of its SK-II skin care products in China and abandon plans to build a plant in China after its cosmetics were found to contain neodymium and chromium by China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine last month.

A leading official from P&G said the company is negotiating with the Chinese government and hopes to resolve the issue. The company is eager to resume sales of SK-II.
