PFLP slams Qatari proposal on forming Palestinian coalition governmentThe Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) criticized on Wednesday the Qatari proposals brought by Qatari foreign minister in his recent visit to the Gaza Strip, saying they served the American stance. The PFLP said in a statement delivered to the press that the six articles of the initiative that recognized the Israeli occupation and called for renouncing violence were a complete submit to the American attitude which is partial to Israel. "The visit of the Qatari minister came in the course of imposing unjust American and Israeli conditions that give up our national rights," said the statement. It continued that "we were expecting the Qatari mediation to stand next to the Palestinian people who demand return of refugees, freedom, independence and the lift of blockade." The PFLP also called for a united Arab position to support the Palestinians while maintaining their national principals. On the internal Palestinian level, the PFLP urged the resumption of the inter-Palestinian talks to form a national unity government based on the Prisoners' Document of National Accordance. The document, initiated by Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, calls for a Palestinian statehood alongside Israel and a truce with Israel to end the ongoing violence in the Palestinian territories.
