Two pilot cables successfully launched by rockets in Hubei
font size

Two pilot cables 980 meters long have been successfully fired into a canyon from the construction site of the Sidu River Bridge by two rockets in Hubei Province.

The surface of the Sidu River bridge, which is on the west side of the Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway in Hubei Province, is 560 meters away from the canyon. It is the world's highest bridge.

This new technology helps solve the worldwide difficulty of launching pilot cables into a canyon.

Launching pilot cables by rocket is a world first. The successful launch was conducted by People's Liberation Army and China Road & Bridge Corporation.
