Nine suspected rebels were captured in the Afghan capital Kabul by the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), an ISAF statement said on Saturday.
The insurgents, who are believed to have been involved in recent attacks in the city, were detained on Friday morning in southeastern Kabul, the statement said.
Many articles thought to be linked to insurgent activity were removed from the scene for further analysis.
During the operation, three local nationals were injured and one subsequently died of sustained injuries, the statement said.
The operation will contribute a lot to the safety and security of Kabul citizens, it added.
In the past months, Kabul has plunged into the worst spate of violence since the Taliban regime was toppled down nearly five years ago. A series of deadly suicide bombings have occurred.
In a recent case, a suicide bombing killed 12 persons and injured over 50 others before a gate of the Interior Ministry on Sept. 30.
The police said scores of suicide bombers have sneaked into Kabul and are waiting for their chance to launch attacks.
