"Unknown gunmen stormed into the house of a family in the al- Baker neighborhood in eastern Mosul early in the morning and opened fire, leaving three women and two men killed," said Brigadier Sa'id al-Jabouri, head of police media office of Nineveh province.

Police are investigating the incident to find out the motives behind the crime, the source said.
