Teacher arrested for sexually abusing school girls in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe's Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary affairs has unearthed the case of a 37- year-old teacher who has sexually abused 11 students on different occasions since last year, the official Newsnet has reported.

The national coordinator for victim friendly unit in the ministry Idine Magonga said Edwin Chiwetu of Tafara School in Harare has been arrested by the police.

Magonga revealed that the case was reported to a lady teacher last year, however it was never reported to the police.

The case was unearthed following an anonymous call which was made to the department of victim friendly unit.

This development comes following the campaign against child abuse which was done by the ministry in conjunction with other non governmental organizations.
