font size

The China joint venture of South Korea's carmaker Hyundai Motor will recall 98,559 locally made cars to fix defects, the company announced on Tuesday.

According to Beijing Hyundai Motor Company Ltd., all the cars belong to its Elantra and Sonata series and were manufactured between October 1, 2004, and March 22, 2005.

The company said the cars have ignition system problems.

Beijing Hyundai said it will telephone or send letters to inform the car owners. The owners can also call 800-810-1100, 010-89488100 or contact the company's local service centers for more repair information.
