Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met with a delegation of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), headed by the organization's chairman Alessandro A. Luppa, on Thursday.

Wen said that the Chinese government attached great importance to the role played by the insurance industry in boosting national economic development.

He also asked the group for their advice on how to further integrate the Chinese insurance industry into the world economy.

Luppa spoke positively of China's commitment to participate in international insurance supervision programs and offered his views on how to push forward China's economic and social progress through insurance approaches.
