Vietnam's consumer price index (CPI) is estimated at 5.4 percent in the first 10 months of this year, according to the country's General Statistics Office on Tuesday.
CPI in October is estimated at 0.2 percent. Among 10 commodities and services used in calculating CPI, index of prices used to measure the change in the cost of basic goods and services in comparison with a fixed base period, education service sees the highest price hike, which is estimated at 1.6 percent this month.
Meanwhile, costs of home appliances, pharmaceuticals, and drinks and cigarettes, are forecast to rise 0.9 percent, 0.6 percent, and 0.3 percent respectively.
The country, which recorded CPI of 8.4 percent last year, is expected to see CPI of 7.3 percent this year, said the office.
