Saudi Arabia is the biggest market for live cattle and sheep in the Middle East. It imports nearly six million sheep for slaughter every year. Saudi Arabia's lifting of the ban will have a positive effect on Middle Eastern countries, said a person concerned from the State Quality and Quarantine Administration.
China currently has approval to export cattle and sheep to 11 countries including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, North Korea, Thailand, Myanmar and Nepal.
