Vietnam bans magazine for publishing sex-relating articlesVietnam has banned a local magazine for issuing articles on how to improve sexual performance, a Vietnamese official told Xinhua on Monday. The country's Ministry of Culture and Information has closed the Business and Product Magazine for publishing a series of the articles, causing negative impacts on the society, the official from the ministry said, declining to be named. However, local media on Monday only reported that the magazine, a publication of the Vietnam Cooperatives Alliance, was closed due to violating the principles and purposes of the work permit. The ministry is considering revoking press cards of all the magazine's reporters and editors, said the newspaper News. Last week, the ministry suspended two newspapers, namely Times and Justice, respectively owned by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the People's Supreme Court, for one month. It said the newspapers published inaccurate information about problems with the country's new polymer banknotes, violating the country's press law. Source: Xinhua |
