A senior official with the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Wednesday called for more international efforts to fight against corruption.
"Countries and regions should cooperate more and better in implementing the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) in order to promote world peace and stability," said Luo Gan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
Luo Wednesday attended the closing ceremony of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA)' first annual conference in north China's Hebei Province.
"Corruption-related crimes have damaged government's prestige and social justice, hampering economic and social development. This is an international problem," said Luo, adding that it is the common aspiration of people around the world to fight against corruption. The anti-corruption fight is a sacred duty for all anti-corruption authorities.
He said the Chinese government has made a great deal of effort in fighting against graft and Chinese judiciary organizations have cooperated with many countries in fighting corruption.
More than 900 delegates from 137 countries and regions and 12 international organizations are attending the five-day conference.
