Philippine president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo left Nanchang Sunday, concluding her two-day visit to Jiangxi Province in east China.

The president arrived in Nanchang on Saturday afternoon.

Nanchang University, the biggest university in Jiangxi Province, is her first stop in Nanchang.

In the university, Arroyo made a speech on the relationship between the Republic of the Philippines and Jiangxi Province, and between the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and China.

Meng Jianzhu, secretary of Jiangxi Provincial Committee of Communist Party of China (CPC), and Huang Zhiquan, governor of Jiangxi, met with Arroyo. Meng said he hoped more and more Filipinos would visit and make investment in Jiangxi.

Arroyo agreed with Meng's assessment of the relation between the two countries and hoped more Chinese businessmen would invest in the Philippines.

Arroyo also witnessed the signing an agreement of cooperation between the governments of Jiangxi and Bohol Province of the Philippines, which became "sister provinces" in May.

Jiangxi is the second stop of Arroyo's five-day trip to China, beginning from Oct. 27. The first stop is Xiamen City in east China's Fujian Province.

After her visit to Jiangxi, Arroyo will visit Nanning, capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, to attend the commemorative summit to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the ASEAN-China partnership.

In Nanning, she is expected to hold talks with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and with other ASEAN heads of state.

The Philippines will host the 12th ASEAN summit in Cebu in December.
