Macao's newspapers Monday expressed the mourning for the passing away of Henry Fok Ying-tung, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee.
Macao Daily News, the leading local Chinese newspaper, dedicated one whole page to Fok.
The newspaper quoted Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, and Ma Man Kei, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, to praise Fok's singular devotion on the sectors of education, health, sport, science, art and culture and the social welfare.
Va Kio, another major Chinese newspaper, also published articles to express the mourning for the Hong Kong business czar.
It cited Fok's friends in Macao as saying that Fok had made great contribution to the economic, social and cultural developments of both Hong Kong and Macao.
All the other local Chinese newspapers dedicated pages to the tributes to the Hong Kong's tycoon's death, hailing him as a successful entrepreneur and a patriotic charitarian.
Fok died Saturday in Beijing.
