Angolan prime minister visits Shenzhen

Angolan Prime Minister Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos said on Monday in Shenzhen that his country would like to strengthen and expand economic cooperation and exchanges with China.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Liu Yingli, Executive Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen. a booming city in south China's Guangdong Province.

Liu briefed the Angolan guest on the economic and social development of the city, in particular on the hi-tech, financial, logistic and cultural sectors.

Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos also visited local enterprises. He said Angola hoped to conduct friendly cooperation with Shenzhen.

The Angolan prime minister arrived in Shenzhen on Sunday evening and will visit Shanghai, China's commercial hub, before heading for Beijing to attend a summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation running from Nov. 4 to 5.
