One Iraqi civilian was killed and 22 others were wounded when a bomb went off at a busy popular market in southeastern Baghdad district on Thursday, an Interior Ministry source said.

"A homemade bomb detonated around midday in a popular market in Baghdad al-Jadidah neighborhood, killing a civilian and wounding 22 others," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Earlier in the day, four Iraqi policemen were killed and five others wounded in two separate attacks, police source said.
